Building an African health-education evidence hub

SVA is preparing the research foundation that will support evidence briefs, learning evaluations, working papers and future peer-reviewed publications. We will publish research only when methods, authorship, review, ethics and source documentation are clear.

Current status: foundation stage

There are no SVA journal articles or formal research series being presented as published evidence on this page yet. This distinction matters: planned research is labelled as planned, and published work will carry its own authors, dates, methods, identifiers and source links.

Initial evidence scan

The problem SVA should study

Our first scan points to a connected research problem: digital access, institutional readiness and responsible AI use are shaping health-professions education, but their interaction in Tanzania still needs careful, locally grounded evaluation. This is a research hypothesis and gap statement—not a claim of proof.

Source review: Tanzania + global literature · updated October 2026

Evidence briefs

Sourced syntheses that are clearly labelled as briefs rather than original peer-reviewed research.

Research studies

Original studies with defined questions, methods, ethics, analysis and transparent limitations.

Working papers

Pre-publication scholarship clearly marked as draft or working material.

Research collaboration

A structured network for lecturers, researchers, statisticians, clinicians and institutions.

Evidence Brief EB-001
Initial literature synthesis

Digital and AI readiness for health-professions education in Tanzania

A transparent starting synthesis of Tanzania-specific e-learning readiness, emerging health-student AI use, and the equity questions SVA should study next.

Protocol SVA-REACH-001
Draft · not registered

Readiness, Equity, Adoption and Learning Outcomes

Candidate mixed-methods feasibility protocol for evaluating AI-assisted digital health education in Tanzania. No participants recruited and no results claimed.

Research governance
Working policy

Publication integrity & responsible AI

Authorship, contributor roles, ethics, preregistration, data management, AI disclosure, conflicts, corrections and DOI policy.

Publication strategy

The standard comes before the journal

SVA is not presenting itself as a scholarly journal or publisher. The first objective is to produce credible research outputs with traceable methods and identifiers, then submit them to appropriate established venues. A future publishing programme would require a separate editorial, peer-review and governance structure.

Methods first
Study designs, methods, limitations and sources are documented before conclusions are promoted.
Human subjects
Projects involving people or identifiable health information will follow appropriate ethics and consent requirements.
Open correction
Errors will be corrected transparently, with versioning and clear publication history.
Next research pathway
01
Question
Define an African health-education problem worth studying.
02
Protocol
Set methods, ethics, data handling and analysis before collection.
03
Evidence
Analyse, review and document results with sources and limitations.
04
Publication
Submit to an appropriate established venue with identifiers, disclosures and transparent provenance.
Research identity

A traceable researcher record comes first

SVA links research outputs to persistent researcher identifiers where available. The founder profile currently links to an ORCID record; future articles will use verified author, affiliation and contribution metadata.

Publication status

No SVA peer-reviewed articles yet

That is intentional. The current programme is building the protocol, evidence trail, ethics pathway and author/contributor structure before making empirical claims. A journal record and DOI will appear here only after a real publication exists.

Target publication venues

Where the first manuscripts could go

Venue selection will happen after scientific review and, for empirical work, after results are available. Current candidates are chosen because their scopes fit health-professions education, global/public health, or Africa-focused health sciences.

Research transparency ladder
1
Question
Define the problem and candidate gap.
2
Protocol
Lock design, outcomes, ethics and analysis.
3
Registration
Preregister where appropriate before data collection or analysis.
4
Results
Analyse and report without changing the story to fit the data.
5
Publication
Peer review, DOI and permanent public record.
